Radiator Repair
HOLT
services Caterpillar and all other makes and sizes of industrial
radiators including Mesabi, folded core, low flow and conventional.
Anything from simple cleaning and flushing to complete rebuild
of a radiator, oil cooler or after cooler to manufacturer’s
specs can be done quickly and reliably.

Hydraulic Repair
HOLT has two full service hydraulic shops for CAT and other
manufacturer’s components. Capabilities include system
troubleshooting, repair and designing of hydraulic systems.
Lapping, honing grinding, machining, and pressure testing
are integral parts of our hydraulic repair service. Repairs
are done in-house to reduce turn-around time and minimize
repair costs.
Our hydraulic shops are capable of manufacturing custom hydraulic
cylinders for all types of equipment as well as retrofitting
older or obsolete machines with updated hydraulic components.
SPECIALIZED TOOLING INCLUDES:
• Hydraulic test bench used for complete testing
and adjusting of hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders and
other hydraulic equipment.
• Hydraulic cylinder reconditioning features a stand
designed for fast disassembly and assembly. An automatic
honing machine is capable of reconditioning cylinders 1-1/2
inches to 21 inches in diameter and up to 19 feet long.
• A Lapmaster 48” lapping table reclaims piston
slippers, port plates and barrel assemblies for hydraulic
pumps.

Tooling and Technical
Capability
Standard labor saving devices and special tools are available
to speed diagnosis and repairs in all our repair facilities.
Additional tools and fixtures are “developed”
to fill the specific needs of our customers.
We also maintain a complete, current library of service
data for technical support on all Caterpillar built machines.
It
includes changeovers and product improvement information
from Caterpillar. We have full time technical communicators
and
service trainers to keep our service staff up-to-date on
the latest technological innovations from Caterpillar.

Welding/Machining
HOLT’s Machine and Welding Shop provides complete structural
repair & rebuild capability for Caterpillar and other
makes of equipment. Ninety-eight percent of all incoming machine
work is done in-house. Machine tooling includes boring mills
for large in-shop line boring; two smaller mills with 2-1/2”
spindles; a horizontal mill; 6 lathes; 5 drill presses including
a 500 ton brake press; a state-of-the-art Climax Boring Machine;
a CNC Lathe and other precision cutting and drilling equipment.
Other capabilities of the welding shop are thermal spray welding
and abrasive resistant material application.

Fabrication
/ Custom Products
HOLT is known for its customized design and fabrication work
for unusual customer needs. HOLT Custom Engineered Products
Division takes unique customer problems and turns them into
custom designed attachments, components and special application
pieces. Products include: water wagons, excavator buckets,
booms and sticks, landfill and demolition guarding packages,
scraper wear kits, push blocks, counter weights, land clearing
equipment and more. HOLT’s machine and welding shops
are integral parts of the fabrication process.
